Driver patiently waits through ‘five songs’ for stoplight to change: Strongsville Police Blotter

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio

Traffic light songs, Pearl Road: On Aug. 11, a patient music-loving driver called police after being stuck at a Whitney Road intersection for “five songs” waiting for the light to turn.

An arriving officer said the light was cycling correctly.

Fleeing, I-71: On Aug. 11, police observed a speeding motorcyclist traveling 87 mph heading northbound on I-71.

While the officer tried to pull over the bike, the driver took off. The pursuit was called off due to high speeds.

Suspicious person, Royalton Road: On Aug. 11, while a caller was exploring why a vehicle alarm was triggered they observed a suspicious man in an area around Royalton Road.

The caller told dispatch the suspect was sitting behind a gas station dumpster.

An arriving officer was unable to locate the man, who may have been trying to enter vehicles. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Suspicious person, Webster Road: On Aug. 11, police were dispatched to a Webster Road address after a resident observed someone trying to get inside of their garage.

An arriving officer located the suspect, who also rang the home’s doorbell.

The man, who had a warrant out of Michigan that was out of pick-up radius, thought he knew someone who lived at the address.

He was given a courtesy ride back to his motel.

Loud tunes, Whitney Road: On Aug. 11, a Whitney Road apartment resident called police about a neighbor blaring the radio.

An arriving officer talked to the culprit, who agreed to turn his radio down.

A date to remember, Kenilworth Drive: On Aug. 11, police observed a Mazda drive through a stop sign on Kenilworth Drive.

The officer talked to the 16-year-old driver, who was with his girlfriend.

The girl’s mother was called to pick up her daughter.

The driver’s mother also arrived to pick up her son, who was given a warning for driving through a stop sign.
